oh alright, i been texting someone all day about turntables and cartridges since that ad

hey lucskybomba, that set-up sounds awesome. are those your speakers? they're huge!
i wish you lived closer, i'd buy that turntable off ya now. i see a pioneer here in OC on craigslist for $60, which is closer to my price range and i've gotta figure out when i can get out and take a look at that one. apparently, it has its needle and cartridge and doesn't need a pre-amp.

oh and i just bought thrice's vheissu on ebay so i am done with that collection. and i'm going to the thrice show this week.

yeah there are some tables with built-in preamp, forgot about that

and man, i love these speakers. i gave em to my cousin a couple years ago cause they were too big for my new pad. when i moved out again he brought em back (drove them down from oregon!). that bass kicks like a sub!

haha, ya it sounded amazing. that's real nice of your cousin to drive it down to you. there's no way i could have speakers that big, we're pretty pressed for space and i like to keep things minimal, which is why i went ahead and got this:



like i said, it's got a built-in pre-amp so alls i had to do was plug the cord into the aux input of a bose wave stereo that my mother-in-law gave me last month. it doesn't sound as kick ass as your set up but it's quite a step up from my crosley keepsake.
got it for half what it's going for on amazon, too. win.

you will notice an even bigger difference once you upgrade those speakers

for a couple days I was running my table through Bose speakers, great sound for small spaces, but no bass.

thats awesome lunchie im jealous, i saw it on your FB. Im gonna be upgrading shortly, i got hooked up on a old receiver, 5 disks cd changer and speakers from my familys cabin that we had to clean out. So i think all i need now is a new table.

Vintage Pioneer turntable

is that yours? it looks rad but i think im pretty dead set on getting a pro-ject or rega. But it is tempting to spend a few hundred less.
