LOL. do you sympathize with that sentiment or is that just the thing to say for some people, sarfie?

i go with represses just to save money, but i hear sound quality goes down as something approaches its 10th pressing. lol.

i got another record for my bday. johnny cash. will post pix of that and my latest stuff when i get a chance. :D

kind of....hunting for original presses is part of the fun. but somethings you just need to buy the repress because it is impossible to own unless you pay big bucks.

i see what you're saying and i agree. i think with most of the records i want, the original presses cost way more than i want to spend. like for instance, this year, releases by thursday and and brand new got repressed so you could get a copy for no more than $15 as opposed to $50-150. all my thrice records are original press though. the most i spend was $160 on a box set, $150 on a LP and $100 on another LP. INSANE-O. but i had to have them and there's a 95+% chance i wouldn't have found them cheaper. there's a rumor that's been going around after i completed my collection that some of them will get repressed though. at least i will always have the OG copies... lol. and as of now, there are still only one press for each album.
with other records, i probably could've somewhat easily found the original press of my derek and the dominoes record for a good price. i settled on a 1974 pressing (over the 1970 1st press) though because it wasn't too important to me.

My copy of Mylo Xyloto arrived from the UK. Epic looking, but there's no way I can bring myself to open it.

Ive been so busy with work that i've been neglecting this thread, i need to get back on it. Ive gotten quite a bit of stuff in recently. Gonna try and snap some pics this week. In the meantime, heres a mock up of a vinyl project im working on.



Its a press (was never pressed) of IWABO's (iwrestledabearonce) first e.p. that came out 3 or 4 years ago. We will be releasing this in the next month or 2.

We will be doing other colors as well, even kicking around the idea of doing a 3D picture disk.

My cousin was into IWABO back when that ep came out, went with him when they were down here. Not bad I guess, the lead singer Krysta is hot too

That band makes me want to jam screwdrivers in my ears and permanently loose any sort of hearing :(

i've never heard of them. the pic looks cool and omg, the band name is awesome. haha.

i don't know how to feel about TAIA repress. i already have an OG copy and now i feel i'm going to be anxious about getting a copy of that 2nd press. ARGH. i don't normally like to have more than one copy of one release, but i won't be able to pass this up. it's exactly like that jpeg sarf posted a coupla posts ago. ack ack ack.
with that said, if i can get a copy (or 2 or 3 to fund my vinyl habit) then yippee.....................

i still need to find time to post pics of my recent acquisitions. i'm still recovering from the holidays. x_x
