Only by living absurdly is it possible to break out of this infinite absurdity.
In honor of Savatage playing their first concert in over a decade and change, a mere 51.5 weeks from now, I may have started slapping together a list of my 50 favorite songs of theirs. Here is a song from the 'maybe' list that didn't make the final cut, from the Handful Of Rain album, which is a much better album than the lazy artwork indicates. I don't know how only 4 songs from that disc made my list, but if the list went to 75, it would have had 9 of the 10 Handful Of Rain songs.
New album from AT THE GATES - At War With Reality
This is going to be a crusher of an album.
Mitt Romney in 2008!
Just imagine a guy hitting puberty at age 60 and you might be closer to what he actually sounds like...
BTW...I'm going through all four of his albums to get rid of some unwanted guests...
I'll throw that in to my next Amazon order. I finally saw Kix last year at the Key Club. I was expecting a decent show, but they were really, really good.
Another late 80's hard rock band that I had been wanting to see forever, I saw just last night. My biggest concern when I see a band that's been around for a long time is how well the singer's voice has held up, but here age has just made a raspy voice raspier.
This was actually the first time I had seen a show at the Whisky. Love how tiny it is. The only problem was that I could not see the keyboards very well, and the piano is the best part of the band. They were fabulous and a ton of fun. If the Riverside date had not been cancelled, I would be there right now.
I guess the lesson is that hard rock with some blues in the mix is good live.
