With the 4th of July passing, I figured I was due for a more in-depth look at the political, philosophical, or military aspects of the American Revolution. This book: 700 pages long and a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Just started it today.
When Kurt Vonnegut died, I read in one of his obits that he had referred to this novel as "The Great Gatsby of my generation." I figured, good enough for Vonnegut, good enough for me. Sure enough, great book--one of the best novels I've ever read.
