I've only watched one episode of Layover but it doesn't have him in the same alcohol induced haze as No Reservations which I miss. For better or worse it feels a lot more like a city travel guide because of the shorter and more numerous location clips. I will continue to watch it though.Originally Posted by lunchbox

you gotta watch the SF episode then. he gets straight up trashed, sloshed and slurry in it. he's hanging out at some eatery that stays open until 4am, is already drunk from the places he went to before and has a beer with his greasy burger (i think it was) there. personally, i like it because he goes more places (or talks about more) but spends less time talking about each, it seems. i dunno. maybe i just liked that he mentioned a whiskey bar in montreal that i would have liked to have gone to. he also went to the comstock saloon in SF that i would totally want to go to if i didn't travel with my kid. i liked how he talked to chef ludo in the LA episode and i felt more connection to that one than the one in the no reservations series. in the latter, i'd only gone to phillipe's, but i've been to more places in his layover episode so it was more relatable.
oh and it's not my thing, but if you like seeing him wasted, he also gets SUPER high in amsterdam (as he has, in i think it was jamaica, in no reservations).
Ben Bailey or gtfo.

Southland--discovered it late last season, and it's riveting
Leverage--gotta love a fun caper show
Survivor--23 seasons and I'm still watching. This despite the Hantz influence
Amazing Race--best reality show on TV. A worldwide travelogue..."rapido, rapido"
Auction Hunters/Storage wars--same show, different people. Low stakes treasure hunting
Pawn Stars-- I love the Historical items that come into the store--but it's not like a real pawn shop...which leads me to:
Hardcore Pawn--want to know what a real pawn shop is like? This is it, with all the ugliness
iCarly/Victorious--sure they are pointed at teens, but they are both dang funny and they have really talented casts
Hot In Cleveland--These ladies are HILARIOUS
Hell's Kitchen/Kitchen Nightmares--Sure Gordon Ramsey is a blowhard, but when you get past the bluster he's putting on a good show
Diner's, Drive-ins, and Dives--I've been to 8 of these places, and only one disapointed. I love the Nickel Diner!
And finally, the original Law and Order--300 great stories over 20 years--there should be a Law and Order network IMO
