That was just as ridiculous...and he was far more deserving of the honor. Are the concession stands going to be opened. Get your commemorative Whitney Houston's Head Popcorn Holder(first refill free!!!).

Judging solely by size/scope of his fame/audience. Was not accounting for his personal issues. If you are going to travel down that road Jackson deserved a 'tribute' like Mussolini received.

Plenty of people, including myself, never believed Jackson actually molested anyone. Sorry, can't let that one go.

Not the place to have this conversation...but...HOW???? How far does the denial go? Do you think it was perfectly 'normal' for him to have sleepovers with children??? Male children????? Love ya brother, but that's a real blind spot there.

Whitney Houston was pretty famous. Just saying.

Not disagreeing. But Michael Jackson is to Elvis Presley, whereas Whitney is to Dolly Parton. MJ was a cultural phenomenon, and Whitney was a Star. Regardless, I thought the Staples celebration for Jackson was fairly silly as well. He got a send off that some dignitaries don't even get. Once again, I am not pro Michael Jackson and this solely has to do with the scope of his stardom.
