Still...is it enough to overcome all the bad press??? Only opening weekend will tell. Personally, I feel more positive about it, but I have to think that the truth is somewhere in the middle. Not a horrible movie/not a great movie, but I am open to changing my mind when I see it.
It might be good, it might be bad, I don't know. All I can say is that it doesn't look interesting to me in the slightest. That's the biggest flaw as far as I can see. Just seems very derivative and empty.

Of course, that's from a trailer. Could blow my mind.

Regardless of all the "star appeals" noted on that link ... it just feels like epic fail.

First 'World War Z' Reviews Land Plus New Pics & TV Spot | The Playlist

...the film bears unmistakable signs of having been assembled by a Hollywood studio over-preoccupied with earning a family-friendly certificate. Virtually all the violence takes place fractionally off-screen. Disappointingly, the final product is much more conventional than the book and avoids its most interesting and innovative qualities...'World War Z' isn’t terrible. Parts are impressive and exciting. But the incredibly long distance it falls short of its source material means it must rank as one of Hollywood’s most wasted opportunities.
    Mostly like that.

Yeah...the book is a detailed account of the epidemic. The movie is, of course, stripped down to the barest essentials and according to all I have read is distracting due to the fact that it is PG-13 and is primarily bloodless. A review I read yesterday said there was a scene where Pitt's rifle gets stuck in a zombies head and he can't fire it, causing tension. The problem, according to the reviewer, is that the scene is cut so you never see the gun stuck in the head. So you spend a minute confused as to whats going on. According to the review thats the norm not the exception.
