It's PG 13 too? How did I miss that?
So from that dude getting ripped apart in Day of the Dead to running zombies to bloodless zombie movies? We've come a long way,

Friday Box Office: MONSTERS UNIVERSITY and WORLD WAR Z Top Giant Day at the US Box Office | Collider
Good for Brad Pitt. It's his production company that set this in motion(bought rights etc...) but good word of mouth and an almost grass roots 'take it to the people' campaign actually turned the terrible rumors/ predictions for this around. Hey Disney, if you'd have tried half as hard you might have been able to save John Carter.

It just goes to show that people will flock to watch crap.

Really enjoyed it. Entertained the whole time.
Edit: I'm also a fan of the book.

OK SPOILERS IN THAT ARTICLE>>>HEAVY SPOILERS.
WOW, the changes were pretty drastic and the verdict on the finished product...
Solid rollercoaster ride from start to finish. Big setpieces offset by short scenes that introduce characters who come and go moving the story along nicely. Pitt, as the one constant, anchors the movie nicely by just being an every man who is trying to figure things out. Not flashy...almost too subtle at times, but it works very well. MILD SPOILER this movie is fairly well though out(considering all the problems rumored) there is a scene early on where Pitt fears he may be infected. It is up on a rooftop with his family. When he runs to the edge of the roof and stands on the ledge it takes you a second to realize he is poised to toss himself off if he feels the infection coming. A little scene, but very effective. And although it is pg-13 it's not a terrible distraction. The zombies main drive is to infect. Not to eat. They are like infected blood cells. And their movements/attacks are very violent albeit bloodless. Great tension maintained through the entire movie and a pretty satisfying ending. A few minor plot holes...but it's a great ride for the most part. Extra credit to the wtf chittering raptor zombie.

Fun movie. Better than Walking Dead.

World War Z
Liked it a lot, but the PG-13 cuts were worse than The Hunger Games. 4/5 from me.
After reading the original story/ending info above, wow did they dodge a bullet on that nightmare.
