I don't like that they're using the title "First Class" either.
I hate when directors need to make their stamp on things to the extent where the product is so divergent to the comic canon that **** becomes unrecognizable.
I am hoping the next Wolverine movie is based on the first Wolverine limited series by Frank Miller.
Saw this today and it was excellent. Jennifer Lawrence was great. The 2 cameos were fun. Soundtrack was great too.
I saw it earlier today as well, I thought it was great. I really enjoyed Emma Frost, giggity!
Saw it and loved it. The cameos were cool as others had mentioned. There's a ton of character development with prof x, Magneto and mistique. One or two if the characters make you think WTF? But you get over it. There is true emotion and life to the characters.
I can't wait for the next one... as long as Vaughn is directing it. Btw, I read the Darren Arnovsky(sp?) is directing Wolvie 2. This could be really interesting.

Now go away.
Aronofsky is out on that one...check the comic books/cb movies thread fro more.
XMFC had the best reviews for an X-movie, but, so far, the worst opening weekend, so hold off on sequel talk.
Aronofsky dropped out of the Wolverine pic last I heard.
I'm not really sure. It's puzzling, the others, Wolverine especially, get bad reviews and bad word of mouth and make a ton. This one, gets all kinds of critical love and actually looks like a cohesive movie with a brain...and people stay away. I know what is going to be most people's kneejerk reaction to this as far as the numbers...No Wolverine=No Audience. While there may be some truth to that I think the 'foreign-ness' of this may be keeping folks away. It's old school X-Men, not the Claremont familiar crew and the two leads are also 'foreign' and may not be well known enough to carry a movie yet. Hopefully the lack of a big opening will translate to this having staying power and the positive word can build, but probably not. Even though the numbers are far from horrible this movie will be judged by the other X-flicks. Then again, maybe it's just too smart...'60's/Cuban Missile Crisis/Kennedy...maybe they overestimated their target.
