Ill pipe in....

Watched the film and made me like Jack Black less then I already do. Its not completely unwatchable but I will very much agree to the YellowBeard comparison. At one point Im sure Ramis had higher aspirations and probably a better, wittier script but they probably threw a fistful of money at him to make the movie and try and run with Cera and Black who at that time were semi big names.

I don't know... I chuckled a few times during the movie. It's not great... it's not even "good"... but it's far from horrible.

Not by my standards.

It set out to be somewhat screwball, somewhat raunchy comedy... and it was just that. It had zero pretensions.

It was made to be a stupid comedy... and it was a stupid comedy.

I guess it also depends on your definition of "horrible"... if I had to give "Year One" a letter grade I'd give it like.... a D+ or a C-...

Now to me that's not "horrible"... it's just not very good.

I've seen it and while I don't believe I laughed at any point, I didn't feel especially rushed to change the channel either. It serves well as background noise.

Though Oliver Platt probably made me crack a smile at the odd point.
