I hardly expected it to be a searing and thoughtful take on the bible and it's stories. It had Jack Black and Michael Cera in it for crying out loud.

And if you don't like those two at all, then why would you even bother watching it?

[Edit]I can't beleive I'm even defending this movie, but oh, well....

that Pick of Destiny movie was cute...

Year One wasn't good... it was a bad nouveau version of Brooks' History of the World Pt.1. i think i may have laughed twice....and that was for free via cable.

i like Cera, don't mind Jack Black all that much, really... i'm sort of indifferent about him. he does have his moments. personally i've found that Hank Azaria and David Cross become more and more annoying to me as time goes by.

Oliver Platt is always good and Vinnie Jones... well he's f***ing Vinnie Jones... 'cept for that damn Midnight Meat Train.

Look, I see a lot of movies starring folks I don't care for. It's the movie that I am concerned with. I won't rule out seeing anything simply because of someone who is in it. I'm not that close minded. And I go in trying to judge on a case by case basis. A movie like IN BRUGES completely changed my opinion of Colin Ferrell, who I did not care for up to that point. You are defending a movie based on lowered expectations and your main defense is basically 'I wasn't really expecting it to be funny'. That's sad bordering on pathetic. This is why **** movies keep getting made. Because people are basically saying 'as long as it's not THAT crappy...'. I'm sorry, that's not good enough for me. A comedy made about Bible stories should not be AFRAID. And that movie was all about fear. As are most modern movies. The stereotypical argument, If Blazing Saddles came out today... you know it would be a different movie.

Stop defending a movie, that 'wasn't that bad'. You deserve better than that. And so do I.

Be Kind Rewind (**** everyone, I like that movie)

also, I thought Saving Silverman was relatively enjoyable. Nacho Libre, too.

And I liked Kung Fu Panda a lot.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I bet I could name a lot more times when he was a fumferring flopping annoyance. You forgot to put 'Gulliver's Travels' on your list Adgy...I'm sure that's a great movie.
