Star Trek Into Darkness: The Spoiler FAQ

Uh-huh. So they’ve just eliminated death forever.

    Beg pardon?

Kirk was dead for many, many minutes of radiation poisoning, right? He gets injected with Khan’s blood —

    A synthesized version of it.

    — even better. So what wouldn’t Khan’s blood fix? Decapitation, but most other mortal wounds? Poisons? Phaser blasts, I bet. Certainly most other illnesses and cancers and such. And probably aging, at leats to an extent. So basically Bones has discovered the secret to eternal life, and not only will no one on the Enterprise ever need to die again unless their body is somehow destroyed, but all of the civilization — heck, probably galactic civilization – will be irrevocably changed because of this amazing discovery.

Uh, I don’t think so. I think they just save Kirk and then forget about it.

Saw it finally today. Fun ride. WAAAAAAAAAAY too long of a 3rd act, and it got a little too inside and jokey at times(c'mon...Scotty/Chekov were both fun...but man talk about reducing to the core simplistic elements). Yet they treated Sulu with the utmost respect...odd thing there and you could argue racism...but this movie is so lightweight that it would be silly. Popcorn movie and well done for the most part. Everyone was good despite not being deep and a lot of money up on the screen. Stoopid...entertaining...fun...fairly forgettable.

Maybe it's just the fact that I was never a Star Trek fan growing up but I totally agree about this movie and I felt pretty much that this movie, Iron Man 3 and Man of Steel all fell into the same category.

Ultimately they all fall apart completely if looked at for longer than 5 minutes but they're great visual spectacles filled with talented casts and made by talented filmmakers (peoples opinions about Nolan/Snyder notwithstanding)....

    BUT..........

I just think this one was way more fun.

See Doc...I get your point because I really have spent my whole life not caring about Supes. So I has the same reaction to Man of Steel. Different strokes I guess.

There are a couple of Easter eggs (for lack of a better word) in the video.

Rupert Wyatt to Direct STAR TREK 3? Jon M. Chu Unlikely to Direct STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Sequel | Collider

OOOOh I like this choice. Think he can bring depth of character while toning down the SPECTACLE of the whole thing.
