Default Anybody here using the new Tivo with Direct Tv?

We are looking into getting one of the new TiVo premiere boxes and can't find anything on how much their cable card rentals are or if they even offer them. I know that some of you may have had run into this since the new boxes came out.

    Don't do it. Either:

    A) Get a DirecTV DVR - specifically the latest version available. DTV has worked very hard on their DVRs and they've gotten results. Specificially if you have the desires for multi-room viewing and what-have-you.

    or

    B) Wait, and wait and wait - for the new DirecTV with TiVo DVR that has been in development for some time. Official sites still say it's coming in 2010, but no one really knows the exact release date. Get all of the benefits you're looking for in a TiVo without having two separate components.

I still have the original DirecTiVo box and still use it for non-HD programming. It works like a Timex, and it's taken a beating.

This is what I'm doing. I can't wait to get rid of the clunky DTV DVR. Sure the thing does its job but 5+ years later and it still can't hold a candle to TiVO.

Well . . . five year old DVRs, yeah. The current generation of hardware though is a different story. The new HR24 is one of the best DVRs I've ever experienced.

I have 2 HR24'S. I would go that route, as they have been reliable and they do everything tivo does.

Can you mirror or backfeed an HD signal from one box to two TV's in seperate rooms? I have an old Tivo box that is controlling two TV's in seperate rooms but they are not HD. I would like to make the switch. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
