These aren't pop-ups in the classical sense. These are like 'floating' mini window type things from advertisers. They are not identified by my PUB.
I try to close them and immediately get a "xxx.exe" file alert from my AV software. The past 3 or 4 times its happened its been the System Security virus.
What browser are you using? With Firefox I haven't seen an ad or pop up here in years. Ad block plus is the only "security" type add on I use.
Im running IE 7 using google's toolbar PUB. I had IE 8 but hated the MS Bing lock so I reverted back to ie7.
JW, how is chrome treating you?
I like Chrome so far although it is lacking some of the features I've come to used to on FF. Such as view image, history, closed tabs, but I'm sure some one is working on them.
I just installed Chrome, it does fly!
I got two major worms in the past couple of days. One on my personal computer (it's under control, but still acting weird, buddy of mine is hooking me up with some stuff you get rid of it) and on my work computer, which required a full reformat. The only link between work and home computer is LGK. One of the ads is infected with something.
Still loving my Chrome, however my Facebook got hacked. I'm wondering how secure it is compared to FF? I changed the password and all seems good for now but does anyone think my passwords on other sites have been compromised?
