Anyone get hit with the System Security 09 virus yet?? HOLY **** What a nightmare!
****, what a ****ed up virus! My wifes laptop got infected with it and its a f-ing NIGHTMARE to get rid of. It locks ALL of your .exe files and all admin controls except msconfig. Its taken me 26 hours to get rid of the thing and I'm still having issues with IE blocking sites like msupdate. Its a backdoor, rouge virus. We ended up getting the newest variant that also locks down admin options.
Whatever you do DO NOT GET THIS VIRUS!!!! Its the worst I have ever run into.

I cleaned up a system with it a few weeks ago. It was EXTREMELY difficult, and I've had the computer in my hands a couple of extra times to counter some of the after effects after the registry was thrashed pretty good.
Do you know how you got this? The idiot that had to pay me big bucks for this was stupid enough to click on an email ad link about this FREE security software! Awesome the power of karma for cheap bastards who think that they deserve programs like this at no cost.

Like I mentioned it was on my wifes laptop. Im thinking she picked it up from a facebook email that has been going around. But I really havent a clue.
I tell her to keep her malware/anti-virus/spyware software up to date but as chicks do....she forgot to do it.....for 8 months.
I still cant get IE 7 or 8 to run properly. Ive reinstalled both about 10 times and I cant navigate past her homepage. Any ideas? Ive already looked through the IE Restricted sites and the Host file but cant find where its being blocked. BTW, IE8 SUCKS!!! Ive reverted all 3 of my computers back to 7.
Not being able to access Admin functions is what makes this virus a REAL suck!
