    Default Anyone have AT&T U-Verse?

Have been stuck with Time Warner in my apartment for years and just recently found out that U-Verse is available. I have an HD tv and have done my research on both. I know what channels i will gain lose and how the internet should be better. TWC has really upped their HD channel list, but i have found that with the more channels they had the quality is just getting more and more compressed. I also absolutely hate their DVR as almost everyone does. In fairness, i can't complain too much about their reliability has my service has been very stable.

At the end of the day just curious if anyone has Uverse - what do you think of the hd picture quality, reliability, extra features, etc.

    thanks

When I decided to finally leave TWC I wanted Uverse for the quality DVR and price BUT it was not available in my area. I ended up with Fios but leave tomorrow for Uverse based on price alone

I have it and I'm not a fan, DirecTV was better. You can't get CenterIce. Picture quality is good, but the DVR has issues with recorded programs - there are frequent glitches in recordings and you have to re-start the program. The secondary box on other TV's is not really a DVR, so it allows you to watch recorded programs, but not pause/rewind live TV. The channel guide stinks, is frequently incorrect, and shows ALL the channels Uverse has, whether you subscribe to them or not.

Verizon Fios is not available in AT&T areas and AT&T U-Verse is not available in Verizon Fios areas. How are you able to get both services? Did you move?

Thanks for the info. I knew much of what you said and if I could get DirecTV I would. unfortunately i live in an apartment that faces west and can't pick up the signals. One of the biggest draws for me tho was the DVR as the TWC is a total piece. I knew that the functionality of the 2nd box that was not the DVR was limited, but is the guide/recording options really that terrible?

I know two two people who dropped TWC in order to go with U-verse. Needless to say, they're back to TW now. That should tell you enough.

I had it in Anaheim before we moved. I had all of the above problems plus problems with slow speed on internet and phone line issues. We are back w/ Dish Network in VA

Had TW for years and dropped them when they raised my rate from $98 to $148. Went to Direct TV and now I have no problems with DVRs and pictures cutting out. TW is ASS. My neighbors have U-Verse; the internet is slow. That's one of the few pluses about TW; their hi speed is much faster. 1/5 mbps vs. 6 mbps big difference.

U-verse has different levels of internet service, up to 6Mbps.
