Default Apple - Streaming Music Question

I'm fairly new to Apple products but bear with me. I own a MacBook Pro and iPad for work. I am familiar with how to use them (not very hard). I'd like to be able to stream music from both devices to my home theater. What device would I need to purchase in order to do this?

is your home theater connected to you TV? If so i would think you could achieve this with Apple TV.

    Your music. Your speakers.
    The perfect duet.

You’ve got tons of music on your computer. But the best speakers in the house are part of your home theater system. Apple TV connects them without missing a beat. Your iTunes music library streams directly to Apple TV. So you can sit back, choose a tune, and enjoy the music.

Well, since it's already mentioned in here...

How are the Macbook Pro's? I might be buying one soon because I was looking to get a new computer/laptop. I currently have a Dell Dimension 2400 that runs Windows XP, is the change to a Macbook difficult at first? The main reason I want the Macbook Pro is for the program called "Garage Band." Anybody used it? Thanks for any replies.

I have a Macbook Pro and i love it, but then again im a designer so i benefit more from it than the average computer user would. Mine came with garage band on it but i never use it. Macbook pros are very powerful computers. The switch to a mac from pc can be a little confusing at first but if you are pretty computer savy you'll get used to it pretty fast.

Awesome, I gave you some karma! I am alright when it comes to computers (probably have a little more computer smarts than the average person, but not a technical genius.) So I think I'll be fine. I want to do some recording and use it for music purposes, hopefully it's good with those type of things.

i used a mac throughout high school until recently, when i went to pc..i hate pc. i hate designing on it and i refuse to record on this garbage, however, instead of garage band, you should really look into protools, you'll be much more satisfied my man.

Yeah I was originally thinking Protools, but I figured it would be more difficult to use. I've tried using more complex recording/mixing programs and I have learned nothing. Part of it is me being too lazy to read the help files, the other part is me trying to figure it out on my own. I don't really know much about any of that stuff, but that's what I want to learn. I'm gunna start taking a class called music engineering so I can learn.

Apple TV or AirPort Express Base Station can stream music from a HD connected to a router or computer. Keep in mind iTunes must be running at all times with this setup.

Oh wow, I checked out the price of Macbook Pro's online...I knew they were pricey but damn! Oh well, still probably going to buy it. I want it THAT bad, I've been using the same computer for 6 years and need something better.
