We are screwed because? Less options? Or because the only way to make AT&T's service worse is to combine it with T-Mobiles?
Basically everyone has the iPhone except Sprint after this happens. T-Mobile customers will end up paying more but maybe, just maybe the combined network will be better? LOL, who am I kidding...we are all screwed.
My brother is a verizon guy, as well as an AT&T hater. However, he has more connection issues than I do with his motorola droid phone. Also, when we speed test (my3gspeed.com on your phone), my bandwith is always double his.
What the... I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile a few months ago (after my contract expired) because the AT&T signal sucked so bad. Now we're going to go back to it...? =\
traditionally ATT has worse customer serice, more crapware/bloatware, higher prices, fewer mid-high end options, less knowledgeable sale staff,
harder credit requirements, No flex pay. I also drop fewer calls with TMO.
Other than that I don't see much of a difference. With this move they will have a monopoly on the GSM market in the US, They will leverage this with the manufacturers and kill the margins for the makers and demand more coop and more "programs"
This move all but kills Nokia having any presence in the US
well, that's just ****in great.
didn't I hear somewhere that TMo has been bleeding out customers?
hey Dan, what's the latest on SK4G? I'm looking into getting that when I can.
SideKick? on the way not sure when but should be before summer. Lots of devices coming out the next couple months
AT&T will just combine the networks. They're both GSM, but use different 3G and 4G bands, but it shouldn't affect your data signal either way.
But yes, as a T-Mobile customer, this DOES suck. I have awesome pricing for my data that will probably disappear as soon as my contract expires. But, who knows. T-Mobile always has given me great customer support.
Ugh.
EDIT: Apparently, this CAN affect your signal if you're a T-Mobile customer, if AT&T decides to shut down some towers. Verizon did that to some of Alltel's towers when they merged. But yea, suckage all around.
TMO has said NO IPHONE and all contracts will be honored up until the date the sale is final, which should about 12 months
