Thread: Blogging?

I'm considering starting a sports blog...

Every night I'd put up my thoughts and observations on the day, fantasy baseball tips, my favorite bets of the coming day, and other information and predictions. I think it'd be pretty good.

But would anyone actually read it?

To those of you who blog, how many hits do you get? How many people that aren't immediate friends and family read it... and for that matter, how many IN the family and friend group do?

I'd want to put a good amount of effort into it and make it pretty damn good... but not just for 4 readers.

Any advice/suggestions/comments/whatever from people who have or read blogs?

Sounds like a good idea. Have a link to it in your sig here as well as post it in your MYSpace page bulletins. Good way to get the word out.

I've had a personal blog for about three years now that I started simply as a way for my extended family to keep up with me. It was primarily related to my job (and still is), as most of my family has absolutely no clue about the way things work in the airlines. It's readership has gone up quite a bit since other aviation bloggers got together and started cross-linking. In fact, the readership grew so much that I felt the need to "sanitize" it and take my real name down and take out all proper reference to my employer...just to keep things safe for me.

At any rate, I've taken little side-roads into sports with some Dodgers and some Kings info, but not a whole lot.
