    Default Browser Optimize Superiorads

    I must have downloaded something bad. I have been getting pop ups like crazy even with my blocker on. I went to add/remove and removed it, but each time I turn my computer back on, there it is. Anyone know how to get rid of this?

    Download, update and try....

    AdAware
    Spybot
    AVG Free
    SmitFraudFix
    Run Windows Update when you are done and see if that fixes it. If not, whats the name of the program in your add/remove programs menu?

    The name is Browser Optimizer Superiorads. This started when I went to Piratebay for the first time, which I'd heard so much about and tried DL'ing a photo software program, once the download started, all sorts of things starting popping up. I canceled the download and went through the add/remove and removed everything in there that was new, but this superior ad comes back everytime I restart my comp.

    try searching the registry for keywords like Superiorads... or something like that. Then delete the registry key.

    Spybot S&D probably will get it though. I'd DL it and run it... ASAP.

    also check what programs are set to run at startup...

    go into the registry and check the following keys...

    HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run
    HKCU\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run

    You may be removing the application, but there may be a entry there that runs the installation routine again every time the system starts.

    You can also run msconfig.exe - this will show you all services and programs in the different startup processes.

    You might try restoring your computer to a restore point before you had this problem, sometimes that does the trick.
