The best advise was already given - if this is the TV you're looking for - wait just a couple of weeks. TVs will be at their lowest prices the week before Superbowl. Just don't expect HUGE discounts like last year - flat panel inventories are not at high levels right now.

I have a 51" Samsung Plasma in the living room, and I can agree with this. Plasma is incredible. Most of LCD/LED sets I have seen seem to have "not real" feel to them. Nevermind being able to pick up on some motion judder at times.Quote:

Thanks to the Kings raising my season seats by 48.9% with early renewal, I decided to cancel my seats and just bought from Costco the 2011 Sharp LC-60LE832U for $1699. LED TV with 120hz with their 240hz Aquomotion. It's a great TV with an amazing picture. However, when watching hockey with their motion smoothing settings, I get trails on the puck, so I have to turn it off. Also, when the camera pans across the rink, everything is blurry for a moment. It's really annoying. I don't know if it's the TV, or simply a product of moving from a 46" projection CRT to a 60" LED.
Anyway, I'm thinking of moving up to the Samsung 2011 UN60D7000 ($2,350) which is a native 240hz, and their clear motion rate of 720, hoping that the fast hockey motion won't be an issue.
I was not going to go with plasma due to burn-in and longevity issues.
Please give me your thoughts. Thanks.
