Clear wireless internet
I am thinking about dropping DSL in favor of "4G" wireless home internet from Clear (aka Clearwire) It's $45 and I can still used a wired connection for my PC and 360. Anyone have any experience with them ? I have seen their mobile kiosk downtown and the picture on the live online stream they were showing was really good. It's cheaper than DSL, at least for me.

Can you even get a 4g signal at your house? I have a feeling it will be a while before we start seeing 4g in locations other than a downtown setting.

I'm downtown. I was told the tower is literally across the street from me. I think I might just take the plunge if I can get the deal I was offered. I love competition. Take that AT&T !

Sweet go for it, and if you do not have a good signal then you can always cancel within 30 days.

I've had limited experience with their 4G on my phone (Evo), but none, so far, using a computer. I would say search around the net to see if anyone has experienced a hidden transfer cap. I recall from their brochures that they don't have any, but it has been awhile since I've looked into that.
Also, if you haven't done so, double check their coverage map to make sure your house is in their coverage area. Most of my city is, but there is literally a jagged approx 6 block radius that their map shows as not serviced - with the map indicating that I *should* get 4G on my "front porch," but probably not in the back. :D

AT&T made me an offer I can not refuse. If they mess with my bill though, I am out. Thank you competition !

AT&T could pay me to use their service and I'd decline. Glad you saved some cash though.

Clear sucks. I had it for a month and I never received a consistent signal. Plus the guy who sold it to me lied to me when he said it was as fast as FiOS...
