Default Currently have iPhone4, thinking of switching to GalaxyS4...

As the title states, I'm thinking of making the switch. I'm out of contract with At&T, been with them since they were PacBell, then Cingular, and eventually AT&T.

I've been using the iPhone since the iPhone 3, I use Mac's at work and at home, I'm far from a fanboy though. I was very underwhelmed with the iPhone 5 and the Galaxy seems to have gained some serious momentum. I'm not into "Jailbreaking" or "Rooting" phones, just prefer to keep them stock.

My current bill with AT&T with unlimited data is $81.51 a month. The service has been pretty spotty for me when I'm at home (Long Beach), it often cuts out when people call or when I call people, and I have to go out on the sidewalk. Our apt. faces the street, and is on its own, so we aren't buried amongst slabs of drywall and lumber. My phone also lags like crazy in crowded places such as Disneyland and Staples Center, etc... when trying to upload pix to instagram, facebook, or text message pix.

My wife is on Verizon and experiences none of the above. This is making me want to jump ship from AT&T and move to Verizon, and have her add me to her account, and hopefully transfer it to my name since I get a nice discount through my work.

Have any of you guys/gals made the jump. It gives me minor anxiety when I think about it. I'm hoping I don't get buyers remorse if I do make the jump. I know AT&T is offering the GS4 for $99 when you trade in your phone, but if I went that route, I'd just pay the $199 and sell my iP4 on my own and get about $150 for it. I think Verizon has a $50 instant rebate, and is selling it for $199 also, I'll have to double check. My plan is to go into a couple stores this weekend to see what is what. I know Best Buy is offering a free iP5 if you trade in an iP4, but to be honest, I don't want an iP5.

    Input/advice would be much appreciated!!!

    Thank.

LOVE my Galaxy note II. Verizon as a rule has better coverage sounds like your plan may cost more though and will not have unlimited data. Something to think about !!

As far as buying the actual phone I would hit a best Buy and Walmart. They have the best prices and offer the exact same service with better prices on handsets.

If you have unlimited internet, you should NEVER change carriers or platforms.

Call AT&T and threaten to leave and see what happens. If they send you a Microcell for free and comp you the upgrade, your problems are over.

Thankd guys. My wife's plan has unlimited data through Verizon as well. But for some reason I feel like there is a catch to that if I hop on her plan. Im wondering if the 3G just blows with AT&T?

I had both Verizon and AT&T at the same time, and both have had their issues. I have a Razr Maxx for Verizon and the main complaint I have is that it drops the 4g signal quite often, not as much as the HTC. For the signal strength, my HTC has only 3 bars on it constantly, but the call quality or internet speeds haven't had any issues. The AT&T sales person told me that I could get a portable signal booster from them but I didn't look into it. Verizon has a better selection on phones, but I kept the AT&T.
