Yes. We have Verizon Fios and I have called twice about the crappy picture. Mostly a lot of pixelation and when that momentarily clears the picture is most def. not HD. They are coming out on Monday if I have to throw a total tantrum!!!
Yes, I had this exact problem. I called, got the automated tech support thing, it asked me if there was a code on the screen. There was (721), I told it what it was, it put me on hold for like 10 seconds, and my channels came back, I was stunned.
I actually have a tech coming out tomorrow. Ive lost all my HD channels, but I do live in a wind tunnel that is the Cajon Pass.

Just called...the tech on the phone removed and then reinstated my hd package...that seems to have done the trick.
The DirecTV automated system will fix this as Bandit mentioned. This happened last year as well - right when the free preview for Center Ice expired. DirecTV gets a bit carried away with who to shut off after the expiration.
Anyway, call DirecTV, tell the automated system what 3 digit message you're seeing, it sends out a reset code to your receivers while you hold, and everything should work fine. Takes all of 3-4 minutes on the phone with the robot.
You can also send the reset command online by accessing your DirecTV account. The phone is fastest - 1-800-DIRECTV.
That's a different issue entirely. The OP's question was about DirecTV, not Verizon FIOS.

For the record - I had this problem as well. The automated phone system did the trick for me.
