Does Anyone Else Play NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007?

I was surprised to see it wasn't on here. With all the discussions we do on signings, caps, and trades I figured this would be a high favorite here. It is perhaps my favorite pass the time game.

It has no actual playing or anything you are GM and/or Head Coach of any team you want and it has the most accurate and in-depth database of players only rivaled by the NHL archives themselves. It uses a 2d engine to simulate games. It also has the most accurate trading and salary system ever in a NHL game. Console games are mostly about actual play and not managing which makes trades sort of corny. I used to just take an average player and keep trading for a player slightly better than him and 20 trades later would be picking and choosing which franchise players I wanted... Not to mention they are all figured out instantly which isn't really the case in hockey.

Anyway, I recommend it to you all who want to manage the Kings for the season. You can even get updated rosters so you can manage the Kings this offseason and make your own deals. Go try it out.

Edit - I forgot to mention it has a decent learning curve, once you learn the UI and all about the options you have it will soon become one of the most rewarding games you will ever play, stick with it, not to mention you gain an incredible knowledge of the NHL or International hockey by playing this game because it is so accurate. Anything you can do in hockey management today you can do in game. And it has nearly Every single player and staffer known since the beginning of the 2007 season Aged 14-80.

I'm in 2015 with 7 cups won. BTW Bobby Ryan is godly when he hits the NHL in the game.

We've had multiple threads regarding it over the season. Fantastic game. As a matter of fact I just won the Cup with the Kings just days ago.

My new season just started and I ran into serious Cap problems.

Excellent! I am very pleased to find some fellow managers out there =D I know what you mean Nate, the first thing I do every season I start is acquire Bobby Ryan from the Ducks. Absolutely imperative not to mention both he and Anze can reach phenom status pretty easily if catered to enough.

Unfortunately I had to just recently start all over =( I reformatted my laptop and when I installed it I forgot to update it so I got to the 2012 season and experienced the great stat drop and all my players except for my top 3 (Frolov, Kopitar, and Ryan) where pretty much obliterated to 4th line talent able to only produce 5 points... =(

Haha Radio =P I can definitely see how you would run into cap problems :P That roster is unbelievable, first thing I asked myself is if that was even possible. That must be closer to 2007 where Frolov is still $2M and Anze is still $850G prospect. I am also impressed that you acquired Malkin. I did that probably the first time I ever played it and it pretty much put me out of house and home and I had to start over again lol...

With the pregame editor that Radio suggested, I took a few players out of retirement like Palffy, and Deadmarsh. Of course, the first season Deadmarsh was back, he scored 105 points.

Also fun to make phenom players appear every 5-6 seasons.

I won it in the 2009-2010 season. I think. I actually signed Malkin to an Offer Sheet that Pittsburgh wasn't able to match. So I ended up losing a 1st, 2nd and 3rd but that's a tiny price to pay for Malkin. Lecav I acquired for Cammy and Quick because he was about to become a free agent and TB couldn't resign him. Iginla was a UFA. Staal and Tyutin cost me Visnovsky and Tukonen. Weber was back in the Minors at age 23 for some reason. I offered Nashville a 3rd for him and they jumped at it. Rask was had for a 2nd round pick. Toskala was a UFA.

To get Tavares I traded 3 1st round picks and moved up to the number 1 slot. Petrecki I took with the 28th pick in the 2007 draft. Turris I used my 3rd overall pick in the 2007 draft. Voracek fell to the 7th round for some reason.

Coming into the 2010-2011 season I'm ranked 20th in the pre-season poll. This should be an interesting year.

Has anyone played this? I downloaded the 6 month free trial but in order to read the game manual you actually have to purchase the game. I'd really appreciate it if any of you have it. Please PM me. I heard so many great things about this game and I need to know how to get started. Thanks!
