My LG Dare looks pretty useless now, haha.

I would seriously recommend waiting for the HTC Droid (Eris)
HTC Droid Eris priced at $99 for Verizon?
Motorola has gone down hill for a long time now and they always seem to cut corners on their products. The HTC Eris is the same Google OS inside but HTC has made better products the past couple of years.

Wrong. The Eris will not be running the same OS. The Droid is running 2.0 while the cheaper models are running at 1.6. Big difference in terms of functionality, but I'd rather have a HTC phone over a Moto phone.

Every new Droid phone will get the upgrade to 2.0 in the near future. The only reason why Motorola chose to do it sooner was to gain spotlight on a dying company.

So if I get the Droid and then upgrade my service to text and data I'm good to go right?
It would be so cool to log into LGK during the breaks between periods.

Not so much RR you will need a FULL data plan not just a text plan. Your monthly will go up to 30.00 on top of your voice plan. Most carriers now require you keep it for two years just like your voice plan.

As an iPhone user... I'm impressed. Apple needs to wake up. Google and Motorola just opened up a can of whoopass.

Everyone is catching up to Apple and releases such as the Pre and Storm that were touted as iPhone killers haven't lived up to expectations. I appreciate the Moto Droid and the SE "Rachael" (those UI videos of it in action are amazing!) and await its competition because it only forces Apple to get better. As an Apple fan, I'm not worried. As a consumer, I'm giddy!

ha...I was gonna start a thread asking questions about this. Thanks for all of the info everyone. So, if i am not mistaken, you are going to need a data plan with this phone(like a blackberry) in order to get the most out of it?
