To be fair, for me, it would have been $160 something because of my upgrade with TMO. However, Google has FUBAR'ed this entirely by choosing exclusivity rather than intelligent business model.

I completely disagree. he ONLY reason you get the phones for so cheap is you are tying yourself up for 2 year at 30.00 a month with stripped down UI and crappy operating systems because the carrier dictate what can be on a phone in the US.
Tmo you've seen my touch screen phone with Wifi and push email, I pay 10.00 for full data and still get more than anyone one else with a carrier branded phone. I am saving 20.00 a month for as long as I use it PLUS I have far more features.
As far as nexus one, you will NOT see that a TMO store anytime soon, though, I think you will eventually. It was designed to be sold by google and not in the TMO retails for the same reasons I mentioned above. The way google is marketing the phone you do not have to have any of the crappy carrier restrictions.
Nexus One sales SUCK right now because of the early bad press. It not a very impressive looking phone but the OS is amazingly fast and a the best phone currently on the market. One real big issues is the fact that TMOs 3g is not rolled out everywhere adn is still spotty in most markets
that's where i think google underestimated it's target market. no matter what carrier people prefer (or none at all if they are in a position to purchase the phone outright...), there is so much to be said for being able to walk into a place and have in hand-in person, the item you are interested in. Even if they kept sales exclusively through their Google Store, to have that one demo in certain stores for consumers to go hold and feel and assess I think would have meant more sales over and above those lost just from bad press.
I was ready to buy two. Granted, it was with two upgrades linked to a carrier, but it was two phones none the less. What killed it for me was the inability to get anyone to answer any questions about this phone because Google was impossible to reach and they gave nothing in the way of information to the carriers customer service aside from "call google". Well, I called google and was met with a 30 minute wait time and no answers. Then was met again with a denial of my upgrade because their system didnt acknowledge what it should have. Im not like Jeff and Ali. I will not purchase something that costs THAT much blindly. I want as much tangible information as I can get.
To me, the bad press means little to me aside from more confirmatoin that their roll out of this phone was not very well thought out from a consumer standpoint, and it cost them sales.
Someone on here created a wallpaper themes Kings for android phones about 6 months ago, who was it again, wheres the link, I owe you some karma!!
