Thread: Droid Hype??? Is this phone going to be worth it??

Okay, so I am up for an upgrade with Verizon in March and my wife is soon after (I believe in April or August). Now I know we have all heard the rumblings about the iPhone or an Apple Phone device coming to Verizon for a while. What do you guys think is the true validity of these rumors. The people at Mac Mall said January/Feb-which I find difficult to believe...

This brings me to the main point. I have been hearing a lot about the Motorola Droid and have been hesitant with all things Motorola due to quality issues with earlier phones (RAZR, KRAZR, and so forth) and was wondering about this one. I know the Storm 2 is also coming out on the same day. In March what do you think the price point is going to be for each of these phones? Or should I wait til thisApple and Verizon thing works out

I have a feeling iPhone will be staying AT&T exclusive once R2D2 comes out.

The Motorola Droid is just another crappy Motorola phone with another company's OS. I like Android but no more than the Palm Pre (Sprint) or WinMo.

See I have never been a big fan of Win Mobile or the Palm Phones since the Treo 750. To me the Pre just looks cheap

Just saw that Droid is going to be the name of the Motorola Phone, although the name Sholes is being passed around. Also, HTC is releasing a Droid phone on 11/6 how are HTC phones??

I kinda wish I had waited on my Blackberry Tour, two months ago.

I've waited and held off for a new phone.

and if I want to in Feb I can get a new phone and Hubby will take my Tour..
