Dropped it off the kitchen counter. Fell while it was playing a video. The video stopped/froze after a while, but it still played the sound. I couldn't exit, so I manually shut it off. Now whenever I turn it on this comes up:

Any idea of what to do/where to go?

see if you can re-seat your hard drive, cd rom, ram. the fall might have knocked something loose
And reseat the battery.

Could also be a damaged hard drive. Those things are made to take an impact. If its a damaged hard drive, you can replace it yourself for pretty inexpensive if thats the only problem with the laptop.

2. On another computer go to the manufacturer's website and look for their downloads section. There should be a download available to run a diagnostic on the hard drive. Download the program, which will likely want to burn to CD/DVD.

It's a Toshiba Hard Drive. I bought a SATA to USB enclosure yesterday from Fry's. Looks like all the data is still on there. I'm currently transferring my important files to another computer. Should I still check for a diagnostic to run the drive?Quote:

I can't find the CD that came with the laptop. Not sure where I put it. Is there somewhere I can download a replacement?
