Tried flashes in a different configuration at the opposite end of the rink this time. I'm pleased with the results and will probably go with this for the finals next month. I like the way the colors pop.
Looks great! The one thing I would comment on (and I'm sure you know) there is a lot of spill happening from your umbrella onto the back wall which is washing your purple gel out a bit. You might be able to mitigate the spill a bit by bringing the lovely Gal VanIZed away from the wall so there is a bit more fall off from the umbrella. I have also found it is really hard to add color via a gelled light on a white surface, it really helps if you are shooting against gray or black if you want to add color, otherwise you just keep adding light but don't get much color off of it.Quote:

For the 50D owners (RR), there is new firmware to address the Err99s that the camera might be throwing, along with a few other things.
