I would go for it but it's only a jump from 15 to 18mp. I'd rather get a used 5DmkII and get 24 mp (and full frame) I think if I was to do anything. I'm trying to control myself right now although 24 mp would be sweet.
Don't you lose some frames per second with the 5DmkII? Not a good thing if you're shooting sports or other fast-moving stuff, I'd think.
Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Bullets are cheap. Life is priceless.
Damn. Today's been a pretty photo-tastic day!
This dude jumped out of the bushes in front as I was watering them.

And the autofocus on the 5DmkII is the exact same as it is one the 5D, which is to say only 1 cross type sensor right in the middle, the others I don't trust at all. The 7D has a totally new AF, with some really nice features which Canon has been lacking for a long, long time. I am sure will be what the 1D(s) MkIVs will have but they want to make sure they get it right before putting it in an $8k camera.
Here are a handful of shots that I got today at the North American Reptile Breeder's Conference and Trade Show in Anaheim.
I'm not a breeder, or even an owner. Just figured that the 4-year old would get a kick out of having extreme reptile overload. There were about a billion snakes, lizards, spiders, frogs, bugs, and other multi-legged creatures.
My wife has decided that we're buying a Bearded Dragon, and some variety of corn snake. Maybe we shouldn't have gone. Each one of those will need a habitat, and food, and lights, and a heater, and, and, and.
Anyhow, these were shot with available light, and most at f5.6 and 800 ISO if I recall. The lizards were in tubs with more light available, the snakes were through glass. (I did a bit of Photoshop cleanup on dust and particulates for those.) And all of the shots were tweaked from the RAW to fix white balance, contrast and for purely aesthetic reasons.

Walking back to my car after the UCLA game this weekend. Very little touching up in PS. Tried to reduce some of the noise. Still seems like a little much for my tastes.
