    That thing is this thing:

    Aero Spacelines Super Guppy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    The one above is owned and operated by NASA, and is based at their flight operations facility in El Paso, TX. I talked my way into the place last Thursday for a tour. It was really fascinating. The fascility is basically where all the astronaut's flight training is done.

    This is hand-held with the 500mm f/8 mirror lens. People who say that sharp images can't be taken with a reflex lens are full of merde.

Was looking at the 100mm one as well, but based on the 1.6x and some readings of reviews, I think I'm going to go with the 85mm instead. Thoughts?
