This damn night gig that I've got has been seriously impacting my ability to do any photo related activities.

I would go for it but it's only a jump from 15 to 18mp. I'd rather get a used 5DmkII and get 24 mp (and full frame) I think if I was to do anything. I'm trying to control myself right now although 24 mp would be sweet.

Don't you lose some frames per second with the 5DmkII? Not a good thing if you're shooting sports or other fast-moving stuff, I'd think.
