IS is really good for low light because ypou can shoot at 1/30 of a sec and still track objects. If you are with a tripod you have to turn it off. I have had a 70-200 f 4 and now have a 70-700 2,8 IS and there is a world of difference.

All I've heard if great things about the 7d. I own a 50D and LOVE it s I imagine the 5D is even better since it's basically an improved 7D.

I got a photographer's vest to carry all your gear on commando style but I don't think I would ever wear it so I'm taking it back.

You mean wear your vest and nothing else? It would certainly be a bold choice. I suppose it depends on what you're shooting. I wouldn't recommend a Kings' game, but it might be OK for the T-birds.

Vasquez Rocks County Park, Santa Clarita

Shot at sunset with a polarizing filter. PP with Nik Silver Efex Pro - basically, a b&w conversion with a yellow filter effect.

I ended up getting the 7D, 70-200 2.8 IS, 100-400L and a 430ex flash. That hurt, but I should be set for awhile. I can't wait to get out and use them.

Excellent choices. You'll be amazed at the quality of image you can crank out with that combo. Next lens I'd recommend for your setup would be the 17-55 2.8 if you need and everyday walk-around lens.

I noticed this huge bird at the top of a tree while walking the dog. I's about 2-3 ft high and about 25-30 lb I'd say. I stood and watched it for awhile and then came back an hour later with the camera since it kinda looked sick or like it was resting and would be there awhile.

I think it's an Grey Heron..

Thanks, currently I use the 24-70 as my walk around. I was looking at the 10-22 as my wide angle but the budget is done for now. I love them so far.
