Got these two the other night at the HB Pier.
and
Top one was a long exposure of around 10 or so seconds. Both were at sunsetish time.
One day deal on Lightroom at Amazon. $89 (cheaper than an upgrade) so get it while you can.

SmytheKing,
Really like the top one of the pier. Something about the softness of the water and the reflections off of it give it an ethereal quality. Nice work.
So did anyone run right out and order the new Canon 5D Mark III? At first glance it didn't seem like a major upgrade, but with closer inspection, it looks like it's a complete make over. Faster frame rate and 2 more f stops in sensitivity. Better AF and uses both SD and CF cards. A very nice camera, but $3,499 is a big price jump. Very different than Nikon's approach with the D800. Perosnally, I crave more low-light sensitivity over number of pixels recorded so I kind of like the Canon specs better. Once you get above 16MP I think you are pushing the limits of the glass anyway.

Thanks Deader. I feel the same way about that one. . .but I love how the second one feels more alive too. From the people on the top of the pier to the surfer in the water, it just has a good feel. Depending on which day you ask me, I'd say either could be my favorite.
Hoping to do a big project at Santa Monica Pier over the next several weeks. We'll see how that one goes and I'll post it up here if it turns out well.![]()
The first one is my favorite. Very ethereal quality to it. Nicely done.
Adobe Lightroom 4 available now. $79 for the upgrade and the full version is $149. Good deal for those of you needing either.
