I can't stand anything in my ear. After a while I start to get a head ache and my ears stat to hurt at the pressure spots where the ear phone is sitting. I don't like wires either so I use these:

    Amazon.com: Sony DRBT21G/B Stereo Bluetooth® Headset: Electronics

For those items that do not have native Bluetooth I use this to plug into the headphone slot.

Amazon.com: Sony TMR-BT10 - Bluetooth wireless audio transmitter: Electronics

There is a reason they are studio monitors around the world. They are a bit more than you want to spend though. A lot of people don't like them because they can be very harsh with poorly recorded music, but I find they are very faithful.

harsh with poorly recorded music yet they are studio headphones?

sorry Charlie, but you ain't going to find ANY quality reference phones for under $100.

the ones i have -- Sennheiser HD280 Pro are about a hundred bucks now (about the same as 7506s)... and i got them a coupe of years ago.

Sony phones tend to being far too bright for reference, where Sennheisers have always had a great reputation of neutral response phones.

Like I said, a lot of people wont agree with me I will admit that I was quite over the top with my whole "game, set, match" review, but the detail they produce is quite good, and I can't speak for the recording environment, but in live stage / concert, their are a fair number I know who are quite attached to them, so don't count them out as a pro set of cans is all I'm saying
