The problem was short-lived. I woke up the following morning and both my book purchases had downloaded to the Nook. I tried a third one and it showed up in less than a minute.

Here's the review I've posted to my blog:

Apple didn’t invent the MP3 player, it made such a sexy one that many more people wanted to buy it. That’s what it is promising to do again.
I'm not sure they'll hit the mark with this one. The more I use my Nook, the more I love it, despite its shortcomings. It'd be a nice thing to have on any tablet PC, but the fact is that e-reader software is already available for PCs.

When Apple finally releases this later this year:

    iTablet goes OLED,*bumped until late 2010 | The Apple Core | ZDNet.com

It better have comparable book reading software.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.
