    Default Fitbit?

Anyone got one? Worth a ****?

I did BodyBugg for like two-and-a-half years with great success. I need to get back on that kind of tracking program, but the BB doesn't work for squat with mobile devices.

I've heard good reviews. I don't use it myself.

The Nike one looks good as well.

I use the BodyMedia Fit. I chose it because all the online research I could find indicated it was more accurate than the Fitbit or the Nike band in terms of tracking calories burned. I'm kind of obsessive compulsive that way. But if you are looking for a relative measurement, the Fitbit or Nike should work fine.

I do like my BodyMedia band, it works great and doesn't bother me when I wear it, even on long runs. Really seems to track calories burned accurately, and also measures METs pretty well. There is a small monthly fee for using their website for tracking, but it's worth it if you really want accurate (er) numbers.

BodyBugg is the same thing, Geo. Works great, but their pairing to the smart phone sucks. The app would never talk to the band reliably, and there's no way to charge the band if you're away from a computer. That's why I haven't gotten back on that program.

EDIT: After a bit of reading, maybe it was the bodybugg app itself rather than the armband? Might give it a try again, since it appears I can use the old BB armband with the bodymedia program.

Occasionally the app would have trouble talking to the armband, but it wasn't often enough to be annoying. I do like the app, except there's no barcode scanner for packaged foods. Boo.

Ive used everything over the years and I have to tell you that my FitBit Flex was the biggest disappointment ever. Basically all it is a pedometer that gives you totally skewed results if you use your hands throughout the day a lot. I had the 1st version and the 2nd version of the BB and I would say those totally surpass the FitBit in terms of reliability and accuracy. Don't waste your money on a FitBit. Totally useless.
