    Default free itunes organizer?

so i have about 80gb's of music and about 20 of video, and i had to just do a system restore, well everything on my i tunes copied twice. i don't have the time to go through and delete every duplicate. anyone know of a free software? i tried tidysongs and a few other "free" software titles, only to have them delete 50-100 duplicates and then say "please enter your credit card and pay $39.99 for full removal." thanks in advance guys!

    im sorry, just to clarify:
you have two of each file on your itunes? or on your ipod?
and did the files actually duplicate or is there two copies of it in itunes?

if they are duplicated in itunes right click on a song and click on "get info" the file name is on the bottom of the window. is it the same location for both versions of the song? if it is it might just be easier to ctrl+click and delete the songs that way.

    and mac or pc?

I unfortunately have a pc, and I have duplicates in my iTunes not the iPod. For example city of evil from avenged sevenfold had copied 10 times in my iTunes when I re installed it. I only have it once on my music folder though.

I'm pretty sure there is a "find duplicates" function on the ITunes menu.

I would use the find duplicates if you have the time. I had a tool that searches, shows you a list, and then deleted the duplicates. If you can wait until I get home ill send you a link

If you're positive they are duplicated in your iTunes and there arnt multiple versions of the folders id just delete my itunes but not the files and then re upload your itunes music folder.

the problem with that is that is resets your song rankings and playcount (if thats important)
