Default Free rightFax or other Free online Fax

I used to use RightFax at the job but now Im on my own in need of finding a couple of cheap if not free home office items for my desktop.

Any free program that will let me send PDFs and other files from my computer to a Fax?

Im also on the lookout for some type of Customer database mgmt tool. I liked goldmine back in the day but really any tool that will help keep me organized with call historys and call scheduling would be great. I suppose I could simply use Outlook if I needed to.

    Any help much appreciated.

Are you only looking to Send Faxes or do you need receiving capabilities to?

I ask because most of the free fax software only gives you the option of sending. there are ways of sending and receiving but there is a bit of a setup process and the need for extra equipment.

you can use the Built-in Windows Fax service you just print the file to the fax printer and it will then ask you what number you want to send it to as long as you have a fax modem you are good.

here is a free program that does the same thing as the Built-in fax but it does allow you to create a phone list.

As far as CRM software not very many of them out there that are free anymore. even the open source CRM programs are no longer free and tend to be a bit of work to setup. Act is a good way to keep this information which you are looking at roughly $100 for this software.

there is also a program called Kontact that I have to see if there is a version for Windows. This program could be a better solution as it is free. I will let you know tomorrow if this program runs in Windows.

Im having a hard time finding this program-is it already built in to windows? If so, I know how to print to fax and what not but unable to find the item itself to populate it into the pull down windows. I dont have a Fax modem as I have DSL line.

Ok since you don't have a modem in the computer the Windows fax would be pointless then. It probably wasn't installed because there is no modem.

In this case you would have to use a fax over the internet service. The software to use them is free but the service is not. you could use Efax which is really good and they will give you a fax number. with this service you would be looking at $16 to $20 a month and you can have the faxes delivered in .tif .pdf or .efx format in your email client. They also have a client which you use to send faxes to.

here is another online faxing service and is actually a better deal than efax twice the faxes for half the monthly cost.RingCentral Internet Fax Plans and Pricing

as far as the suggestions from CD here is the link to the sugarCRM download. This download is the free version and has the database and web server stacked into the setup. https://www.sugarcrm.com/crm/downloa...tml#installers

Act is a product that can be picked up at any Best Buy, Fry's, Office Depot or staples.

Free Fax • Free Internet Faxing

It lets you send PDF as a fax. But for the free faxes, you're limited to 2 faxes per day, 3 pages per fax, and they put an ad on the cover sheet.

Or you can use their premium service for $1.99 a fax, no ad on the cover page, 15 page limit per fax, no limit on the number you can send per day.
