haha, you just told me that the hardware is the same! Everyone has been telling me that the machine is the same, that I am just paying for the brand. Now, suddenly, having "the same" components is not the same? hmmm

Secondly, your saying how it needs to update all the time. yes, there are updates. if your printer software is updating every time you turn on xp, you have an issue. printer software is updated maybe twice in the lifetime of ANY printer. Your virus definitions update all the time, because i think somewhere in the vicinity of 50 - 100 new virii are created every day. Lastly, regarding the updates. this is generally achieved by a couple of mouse clicks. If this is too strenuous for you, then by all means, perhaps you may wish to keep away from computers as a whole.
I never said ppl have to build their own computer, and people that didnt were handicapped. Your making things up at this point.
Lastly, regarding the costs of the machine i built, 140 for cpu/mobo, 50 for hd, 30 for dvd rw 30 for case/psu and 50 for ram. i already had a kb/mouse, but they're only about 20$ new anyways[/quote]
apple and their products are for ppl to handicapped to run microsoft software, and have lots of money to burn on the over priced hardware/software apple provides. Windows xp is the best platform , period.
What happened to the video card? Is that part of the mobo? I honestly don't know.
So you're a thief? I change my mind, maybe you just are a cheap bastard! :)
i did not need to pay for my copy of windows. only suckers do that.
as for a "descent" video card costing 100$, yes, you can get a crappy video card for 100$if your playing games on your pc, but you wouldn't build one this cheap for games. my mobo has onboard video.
No one is going to tell you that macs are cheaper. No one has said that in this thread, and no one in their right mind will tell you that on the street either. But paying more for a mac doesn't mean that you are "to handicapped to use MS products," which is the first sentence of your post that i was replying to.
the point i was trying to make was regarding the COST of pc's vs. the costs of macs.
you can even get a pre-built machine for about 400-500. what kind of an apple can you get for this amount of money?
