Hey everyone, does anyone know when Gingerbread is coming out for the Incredible. I know it was pushed for the Incredible 2 this last week if I am correct, yet I thought it was supposed to come out at the start of the year? What is the hold up?

Well if the update is anything like the GB update for the Droid X I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. The GB update totally screwed my Droid X to the point where I had to reboot several times a day to use it. I have flashed my Droid X back to Froyo and will await the supposed bug fix update.
If there is a hold up its the carrier holding it up. The Incredible 2 is out and working well
As for the moto update It was a disaster and was pulled. Still no new release date
GB really messed up my droid X too. Luckily there is supposed to be a patch coming out next week.
I'd hold off on installing it until you know it's safe to do so.
My droid x only charges to 60% now. Fun, right?
I'm still waiting for the G2 to get it :cbgb:
From what I've seen on the Evo, the update is pretty meh.

Might not be all that bad of news, my DroidX has had problems since I updated to Gingerbread.
I was having problems with Gingerbread on my Droid X too. I SBF'd back to Froyo, did a hard reset, cleared the cache, wiped my SD card and then OTA'd Gingerbread again. Its running better than before. Only big problem now is the hard key lights acting screwy. Before along with the lights my 3G would drop out and not come back and I could not make phone calls every once in awhile.Quote:

in other news, turns out that the Incredible is going to get the Gingerbread update after all (my wife has the Incredible and is eager to get the update, hopefully without the bugs my phone now has):
