Since you appear to not know much about how large server environments work, I will try to explain.

    1. "Everyone else's" mailbox is almost certainly NOT working. I have had some issues logging in in the last day or so myself, as I'm sure many other users of gmail have. Surprisingly, everyone that uses gmail doesn't post on LGK, so the responses you are getting here do not ecapsulate the health of their entire server infrastructure.

    2. Your mailbox (a long with a bunch of others) resides on one piece of hardware that is part of a whole. That particular part is "undergoing maintenance" right now which is why you are having problems while others are not.

And its been fine for over a year - whats the deal now? I'm tired of trying to answer customer emails from my fricking cell phone!
Since you probably didn't look it up, let me help you:

"A beta version is the first version released outside the organization or community that develops the software, for the purpose of evaluation or real-world black/grey-box testing. The process of delivering a beta version to the users is called beta release. Beta level software generally includes all features, but may also include known issues and bugs of a less serious variety."

"Beta version software is likely to be useful for internal demonstrations and previews to select customers, but unstable and not yet ready for release."

While I feel nothing but the deepest sympathy for you not being able to use this free product, might I suggest you go with a pay service, or at least one that's not in beta, if what you desire is reliability and uptime? I guarantee you that your mailbox has been unavailable before, you just haven't noticed it.

No need to be an ass. I simply asked a question and you treated me like crap. Thanks. I certainly hope you don't work a Help Desk position. Your users must love you.

While I may not know EVERYTHING about larger server environments, I was asking a simple question. I do know what Beta means. What I was looking for was a simple answer to a question. Is anyone else having an issue?
Since I seem to be the only one out of a million people using it, something must be wrong.
I've since received an email from them in response to my issue and am working with them to take care of it.

No need to be snarky. And since I've been using Gmail BETA for almost 2 years, I have not had any issues in that time. I found it funny that an email account that is checked many times daily has issues. I also got a canned response from them stating my account was under maintenance. There was no forewarning or message stating this fact. Something I now know is not the case. There is some other issue, which I am working with them to resolve.

Thank you for your snarky canned response. I certainly appreciate it.

Am I to assume that since your personality seems flawed, that you too are a Beta version?

You're complaining about a free product. I'm merely pointing out that is what you are doing. Which one of us is being the ass?

Again, you are NOT the only person "out of a million people using it" that is having problems. I already explained this to you, but again, everyone that uses gmail does not post on LGK.

The length of time you're been using it is irrelevant to the fact that it is still a beta product, which means it can go down at any time WITHOUT notice to you. If you truly understood what "beta" meant you would know this.

I keep explaining these concepts to you, and you keep ignoring the explanations. THAT is why you are getting the response you are from me.

Trust me, there is nothing "canned" about my response. Based on everything else though, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you don't understand what that term means either.
