    Default Google Chrome...

...is REALLY starting to piss me off!

Anyone else keep getting this every 5 minutes:

Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found.
and the stupid "aww snap!" crashed window?

    Any remedies for the above?

Just realized its still beta. WTF?

Works like a swiss clock for me. Are you having DNS server problems only with Chrome?

Nope. No issues with Chrome at the moment.

And yes, Gmail is out of beta.

I haven't seen that but I am using the unstable version for Linux. But I see it is time to upgrade to the Stable release that just came out. And if it was a DNS issue then he wouldn't be able to get to that site with any browser. Are you having this problem with another browser? if not I would uninstall and reinstall chrome.

Thats exactly what I needed to do RP. Just prior to me reading your post, I had to dump and reinstall Chrome. It became so erratic and unstable that I just pulled the plug. Something in the program files was definitely corrupt.

    Now, she's flying high!

Whilst reasearching the issue, I ran into a few things to tweak to speed it up even faster.

Go to the wrench icon up top, on the right and open "Options". Under "Privacy" in "Under the Hood", un-select "Show suggestions for Navigation Errors" and "Use DNS pre-fetching....".

    Much better.

As for another browser, I tried IE7 and that ****er crashed the second I hovered the freak'n arrow over the desktop icon...lol.

lol try installing Firefox as a backup browser. it won't crash when you look at it.

How weird. Just started getting the same error this morning, after I updated chrome yesterday. I wonder if it is a problem with the new build?

Mine started going apeschit about a week ago. As soon as I fixed my laptop yesterday, my wifes laptop started doing the same thing as mine did. I just reinstalled the whole thing.

I tried to reinstall chrome over the previous install but kept getting the same msg. So I did a program dump and clean install and have not had a problem as of now.

Good thing is all the settings are saved automatically so the clean install brought back all my bookmarks and extensions.
