There are many people at work who feel both formats are going to fail because of downloading movies and other formats coming out. I can't help but feel like that's just not going to be the case. As far as the HD goes, there is no way that eventually people are still going to stick with SD. It just doesn't make sense. Technology constantly changes and people will adapt. And as far as downloading goes, there are three problems that I see. There is no way that in the near future we can have that much storage space for all the movies to fit on which would also require faster internet. Also, if you do download it, you can never take it anywhere. If I want to go to a friend's house, I wouldn't be able to take a movie with me unless I burned one. Finally, I'm the type of person who likes having a hard copy of something with the packaging and everything. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
