What are the problems that you get with the LG?
Double checked and it was $799 not $699 my mistake. It was 50 bucks more then what Costco was selling it for.
Added a 2 year warranty and it cost me roughly $1025. This was about 3 months ago.
A top notch television in the 30something size range will offer contrast ratios around 6,000:1 - 10,000:1. A lot of the Vizios that I have seen barley crack 1000:1 and pixel response time also leaves a bit to be desired.
I'm glad someone brought up Flat Panel TV's. I'm in the market for a 42" and besides seeing them for myself, do any of you have specific recommendations?
I'm debating between Plasma and LCD. My room isn't too bright so from what I've heard, a Plasma would be good. The couch is about 85"-95" away from the TV so a 42" seems to be the appropriate size.
I've heard that the Sony Bravia's are supposed to be amazing but I'm not sure I have the budget. They seem to be much more expensive.
i don't know if anyone mentioned it but it also depends on your viewing distance. if you're going to be far away, then it's not going to matter as much. i went with the 1080p just for the ps3 and it's niiiiice!
Check out Costco for great prices, and check weekly ads every Sunday for Best Buy and Circuit City to see what 42"ers are on sale. Sometimes they go on sale for a steal!
fry's have been having GOOD deals on samsung's the past few weeks. of course i hate fry's and wouldn't buy a tv from there, but i got best buy to price match plus 10% on it.
