I'm looking at Samsung's and just waiting for the right deal.
Fisch is that edge lit LED or back lit with local dimming? I really want one that is back lit, since that will bring a greater energy savings supposedly and the Sony's and Vizio I have been looking at are back lit with local dim
Vizio is an expendable TV. When it dies you throw it away and get another one. That's why they are so cheap.
Spend a little more and buy a Samsung, Sharp, LG, Panasonic, or Sony.
You will get a much better picture quality without the motion artifacts and color saturation.
Sorry to hear about the situation, it sucks when a TV dies.
I listen to a tech podcast and they were claiming that the black friday websites are predicting new televisions will have a dramatic drop in prices for the Christmas season. I have been thinking of a new tv for the bedroom so I am curious if this will come true.
Promotionally priced 32 inch LCD TV- $200 or less
42-50 inch Plasma 720P TV- $400-$500
40-42 LCD 1080P- As low as under $500
The possible reason for the potential drop in price is that earlier this year, there was a shortage of bulbs for the televisions. With the economy still in the tank and the increase in the production of bulbs, there is now a surplus of bulbs which will now bring the prices of televisions down.
All this is speculation so who knows if it will actually happen. The prices will probably be for the lower end televisions but I would think you will still see prices drop for the high end televisions as well.
Thanks for that info. I would want 1080P for my PS3/Blu Ray player for sure.
Well the guy came and took the set, and it could be 5 days or could be 10 days. Damn Kings opener is right in the middle of this time frame
There are too many panels out there that's why the price will go down. Prices will be good through Christmas.
Okay, so I got the TV back. Just a word of advice for everyone:
STAY AWAY FROM SoCal TECH in North Hollywood.
They are poor at communication, and the tech they sent to pick up and return the TV was angry that I lived in the South Bay, did not know how to read a schedule (they said between 1-5 and he shows up at 10:30 while my son and I were at soccer), and then reeked!!! (love the smell of sweat and cigarettes) When he was putting on the bracket, he put them on upside down, and swore it was correct, though he said afterwards that he had never seen that bracket before (a common Costco mount) and that I was incorrect along with the directions.
THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE if you expect communication about the service taking place
Hahaha, I even gave up smoking after a lifetime of that little ole habit. Not because the Government yells how unhealthy it is, or people trying to shame me for smoking. Only quit because couldn't afford the damned price to smoke anymore. TV is more important.
