See I need LCD or LED and Panasonic does not have anything really in the 46-47 in. range.

I have a 32" Panasonic Viera LCD (my old one now in the bedroom) and it wasn't that good. Poor controls, sketchy inputs and after a couple of years It's got screen burn or something on the screen cover most likely due to heat. The darker markings are along the top edge and a little bit right down the middle. The pixels are fine it's just the screen cover part which is messed up which necessitated my move to Samsung's LCD for my main TV.
It was a Costco purchase but after they did the limited electronics warranty...sucks.
If I was to go with a Panny again, I'd only get their plasma.
I have a Visio 50" plasma and no complaints so far other than it runs very hot. Had it about 3 years. I just need it to make it another couple of years so I can eventually get a 3-d.
I checked out the Sony 3-d shop at the MGM at FF and it was amazing. Once prices come down a bit and the channels roll out, I will be definitely be in the market.
I have a 32" Vizio for the bedroom and the quality is very good. Never had any of the problems mentioned in this thread.
I'm going to be upgrading my living room tv this holiday season. Looking LED, roughly 50", Sony, Samsung or Panasonic. I'm hoping to pick up something on black friday but it depends on the sale.

Should be quite a few sales for Black Friday taz, I'm happy with the 37" Olevia I bought 3 years ago. Be prepared to see features on people that you don't see in SD.
If you really want something in this life, you have to work for it. Now, quiet! The're about to announce the lottery numbers...
We have a couple of Sharp Aquos 42" screens, and like them very much. One of the reasons we chose these was that, during my research, I had read that manufacturers like Sharp and Sony design their own chipsets for the best performance with the rest of sets' components. The other manufacturers use generic chipsets and components.
I'm pretty sure Sharp offers 46" and 50" models.
