HELP - I'm about to get my 1st cell phone
So I've put it off until now because, frankly, I don't use a phone too often. Presently, I share a phone with my g/f. I may text 1-10 times a day, and I make phone calls about twice a week. I'm not a fan of Go-Phones because I do use it daily, so it would be a wash since they charge by daily use. I have an internet contract with AT&T and the woman told me there's a tiny discount if I get a cell contract (about $5). So it would be about $55 a month.
I just checked out Cricket and they've got contracts for $40 for unlimited nationwide calling, text, etc. I don't do the Web on the phone (never), and I don't need bluetooth or international calling.
Should I go with the $40 Cricket deal? I would pay somewhere between $80-$150 for a phone through their deal. First month (with $15 activation) would be $95 with phone, and the 1st month phone service free. And then $40 thereafter. Or do I go with AT&T and pay the extra money?
And Consumer Cellular goes even lower:

Yes, I realize how amazing it is that in 2010 I still don't have a phone, but it's been by design. I just didn't have much use for it and I didn't want people getting a hold of me. But now...I see that 's it's generally a necessity. Yes, I've finally caved...
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
