at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

I run a help desk at a local college. We've been using WebHelpDesk the past year but we are looking at moving away. Doesn't have all the features we really need. It's nice and simple...but we need a few other options.

Its funny that you say that. i work for a local university and we are looking at moving towards WebHelpDesk. Im not a fan though. I would like to see us run a real enterprise product as we have over 10,000 students/faculty/staff. Why are you guys moving away from it? Personally Id like to see us running Kaseya, but I dont think the university will pony up the cash for Kaseya.

Don't know if this thread is still being looked at but at my place of employment we use the TrackIT software. It does what it needs to and also simple to use. We also have a Dell Kace server which has an IT Helpdesk built in but we haven't tried it out yet. For remote desktop we use an older version of VNC.

We have a kace server at my workplace as well and wasn't aware of the help desk feature. I'll have to ask about it tomorrow. Our help desk is really bad, no troubleshooting whatsoever, they were all hired for their customer service background, all they do is hand out tickets all day.
